The 30th anniversary Jordan Capital Classic took on yet another transformation as the crowd of 18,424 saw two action packed games. The first game of the evening featured two teams loaded with local talent from the DC area and five wild card players. The White Team ran out to an early lead due to the play of DeMario Anderson (Central Connecticut St.) and MVP Matt Causey (Georgetown). Sheray Thomas led the Blue Team with 20 points and 10 rebounds. In the end, the White Team was too strong as the final score was 108-86. The second game of the evening featured some of the top players in the country.
The first half saw the Black Jersey’s come out on a tear but let their lead dwindle to four by halftime. The second half belonged to Michigan State recruit and Co-MVP Shannon Brown as he led the Silver Jersey’s with 27 points and eight assists. Chris Paul (Wake Forest) added 18 points and five assists to go along with a solid defensive effort. Co-MVP LeBron James and his 34-point and 12 rebound performance led the Black Jersey’s. Linas Kleiza scored 16 points and had 10 rebounds and Minnesota recruit Kris Humphries contributed 12 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Black Jersey’s. The Silver Jersey’s outscored their opponents by nine in the second half to prevail 107-102 in an exciting night of basketball and entertainment at the MCI Center.
